10th edition of India’s biggest Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics festival was held at Hotel Taj West End, Bangalore, Karnataka from 5th to 8th of February 2015. With the support of Government of Karnataka, Department of IT BT and S&T, KBITS and proud sponsors the Fest witnessed workshops, film screenings, Content from the best of the film festivals from various countries & Game zones. This edition of Fest & Summit was aimed at building more awareness about the booming industry of Animation, Visual effects, Gaming and Comics.

Inauguration

India’s biggest Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics festival (ABAI FEST 2015) was inaugurated by Shri S R Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Planning & Statistics, IT, BT and Science and Technology, Govt. of Karnataka, Mr. Srivatsa Krishna, IAS, Secretary, Department of IT BT and S&T, Ms Tanusree Deb Barma, Director of Information Technology & Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka and MD KBITS, Mr. Mark Benson, Global MD, MPC, Mr. Biren Ghose, Country Head- Technicolor and President- ABAI, Mr. S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Chairman, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy were the other dignitaries present on the dais.

Swami Ayyappan

Swami Ayyappan is an animated Indian film about the legend of Swami Ayyappan. It is the first animated portrayal of Ayyappan. The 90-minute film, produced through a collaboration of Toonz Animation India and Animagic Motion Pictures Production, was planned to be released in theatres in the Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages. Mahesh Vettiyar wrote the story, and co-directed the film with Chetan Sharma.
